My dearest husband has finished reading my manuscript and has offered his comments. So I'm doing some re-writes and edits.

Then on to book #2, Flyer of Arianas!

I was more than just a chapter away from the end (you just never know), but it is now completed. Now to the editing!

I am about 1 chapter away from completing Rebel of Castuenda, book one of the Reforging Castuenda series.

Editing, critiques, and talks with my first readers will follow, as well as prayer about God's direction in publishing.

It actually feels possible now. Publishing felt insurmountable before.

God kept reminding me, "Eve, you don't have a publisher because you don't need one now. Finish the manuscript and edit first." He does always provide when its needed, rarely before.

I've dusted off my notebooks and have plunged back into it.
I've used the time previous to this in thinking about the whole writing process and what it means to me, and what it means to God. A difficult journey, but I have emerged encouraged.

I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Being a full-time mom who home educates her children slows the process down but also gives me much fodder to chew on for my books :)

I have finished Rebel of Castuenda tonight! (the rough draft, that is)

What a sense of accomplishment. I can hardly believe it is done.

Now, on to editing. I have some great ideas to add and can't wait to get it polished up.

On a different note, I have also completed a children's book called Hunny Necks and Jelly Bellies and am getting illustrations drawn up for it.

God is good.

I've always enjoyed reading. Books transported me to different realms. So much so, that my mother used to stand beside me and holler my name to bring me back to reality,and I wouldn't hear her.

Writing has been a huge part of my life as well. At the age of twelve, I started to keep a journal and have kept one on the go since. I often started stories, but few were ever completed. It just wouldn't flow. I knew that someday, when the time was ripe, God would open that door and allow the words to flow.

That someday was January 2007. I woke up from a vivid dream (I rarely dream and remember), and immediately thought that it would make a fascinating story. I grabbed a pen and my journal and jotted it down. Thus Rebel of Castuenda and the Reforging Castuenda series were born.

What else do I do besides write?

I am a wife to Todd Nielsen and a mother to three precious children. I am also one of those crazy home educators.

I enjoy gardening, knitting, sewing, soap making, and delving into the Bible.

Rebel of Casuenda is a fantasy fiction novel geared towards Junior and Young Adult readers. It is the first of the Reforging Castuenda series.

In this book, young Darissa wants to fly. Flying is forbidden and thought to be extinct.Wanting to pursue her desire to be a Flier, she pushes at the barriers set before her. In doing this, she inadvertently sets off a revolution in the land of Castuenda.
